Session 26 - Down to level 4
Day 49, 19 Kython continued
The party descended, returning to level 3 of the dungeon. As they explored, they encountered a magical stone arch embedded in a wall. The arch was decorated with a few carbving sof an old man holding a staff.
As they explored they came across a small group of drow apparently guarding the rivew, who were rapidly defeated. Further exploration of the tunnels on the level revealed they had found a passage to Skullport, but the party decided not to head there yet.
The party descended to the next level of the dungeon, which turned out to be After provoking a fight with a relatively friendly Ettin, who was mercilessly slaughtered, the party encountered a strange individual who called himself The Alchemist, who offered to sell some potions in exchange for equipment and fungus.
The party were attacked by some ropers who were fairly tough, although only Mumble was wounded. They then came across a female talking to a toad which was sitting on her knee. On identifying that the toad was a fiend, Meera slew it, and the party took the woman, Beth, to the surface and paid for her sanity to be restored. She offered to let the party copy spells from her spellbook as thanks, as well as gifting the party with a rope of climbing.
Day 50, 20 Kython
After resting overnight, the party returned to the dungeon, and found a room filled with giant spiders and a drider. At the back of the room the party found another magical stone arch. After a bit of experimentation, the party activated the portal, and saw that it opened into a section of corridor that they hadn’t seen before.
The party took a short rest
