Inside they explored various chambers in the tower as they headed upstairs, releasing a gnome from a magic mirror who crumbled to dust, and defeating a demilich. In Halaster's chamber, they encountered Halaster, a powerful giant, and some invisible stalkers. Despite his attempting to surrender, the party killed Halaster, and an ominous rumble shook the tower.
